The healthiest way to approach competitive games is to enjoy the PROCESS of playing to win, and having the win itself be a fun little optional bonus at the end, rather than a machiavellian viewpoint where whatever happens in (or out of) the game doesnt matter so long as you're holding cash at the end. There's also value in caring about improvement more than what you can convert that improvement into in the short- or mid-term - where the goal isn't to get as many wins as possible, but to instead interact with the game at the highest level of play capable by humans, to establish a legacy not from winrates or influence, but raw unmitigated strength and capability!
